'THE MELODY'

The composition below ,is of the poet shahryar ,from the movie umrao jaan( the original one).The song has been into the pages of my diary since years, time passed by and I grew to be in love with it. Years back in the intial stage of my love, as a music student ,I admired its melodious tune, oblivious to the meaning of the words, but ,as I walked along the path of my life,facing the real ways of the world, understood the real beauty of it.
It engulfes all aspects, from philosophy to pain. Hats off to the poet!


justajoo jis ki thi usko to na paya humne,
is bahane se magar dekh li duniya humne.

tujh ko rusawaa na kiya khud bhi pashemaan na hue,
ishq ki rasm ko is tarah nibhaya humne.

kab mili thi,kahan bichhadee thi ,hume yaad nahi,
zindagi tujh ko to bus khwaab me dekha humne.

aye 'adaa' aur sunaaye bhi to kya haal apna,
umra ka lamba safar tay kiya tahna humne.

zindagi dekhiye kya rang dikhati hai hume.

gardish-e-waqt ka kitna bada ehsaan hai ke aaj,
yeh zameen chand se behtar nazar aati hai hume.
